Good Wood Expo

Good Wood Expo is a roadshow of responsible promotional events that hosts talks and exhibitions to promote the trade of legal timber. The Expo creates markets for responsible timber from Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) countries by raising awareness about the importance of the legality of timber and the benefits of the VPA-FLEGT process, as well as helping to connect buyers and sellers of legal and certified products. The previous edition was held in Indonesia and had over 200 visitors.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, we regret to inform our visitors that we will cancel the next Good Wood Expo. The Expo would have been held in June 2020, in Pointe Noire, Republic of Congo. The goal of the GWE - Republic of Congo was to promote the trade of legal timber from the Central African sub-region to international markets. We will keep you informed about the next Good Wood Expo.

IFEX 2019

Good Wood Expo chose the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX 2019) to host our first event. IFEX is Indonesia’s flagship event and international showcase for the furniture industry. In 2018, IFEX attracted 11.429 buyers from 111 countries. Carrying the theme "Redefine, Inspire, Innovate", IFEX 2019 featured a wide range of products by around 500 exhibitors in a space of 60.000 square meters. The Good Wood Expo – Indonesia, situated in an "island" within IFEX 2019, had over 200 visitors during the four days of the Expo.

"Good Wood Expo is totally awesome! Good products, good networks, and a very event to raise awareness on sustainable certified forest products, as well as share information and knowledge about wood and wood products." – Nisa, IFCC

"Good Wood Expo is a very good event for showing people that there are already a lot of companies using legal and certified timber for their products." – Zahra, IFCC

"Good Wood Expo is a good show with several partners showcasing different product lines grouped in one single area, so buyers have many choices to see. One thing for the next event, please move to the main building!" – Andi Wibowo, Roda Jatt-Solo

"Hopefully, FLEGT & VPA in Indonesia is just a start. The EU must do their best to have more countries follow, not loose the momentum, and implement the EUTR in a harmonised and even way." – Nils Petersen, GD Holz (German Timber Trade Federation)

"It is fantastic to see that the issue of legality and of the new qualities that are being added to timber are gaining traction amongst Indonesian producers. This will result in greater confidence amongst European buyers, I think this will lead to larger sales to Indonesian products. Events like the Good Wood Expo highlight the news features." – Frank Miller, Track Record Global

"I was offered the opportunity to exhibit inside the main building [IFEX 2019] for free, but I chose to exhibit at the Good Wood Expo with you. What BVRio is doing to promote legal timber and show that Indonesian companies are working hard to achieve sustainability in the sector is priceless. For myself and my company, sustainability is the most important thing. If not now, when!" – Lenny Maryati, CV Orchard Collection

"Good Wood Expo was a very interesting and fruitful experience. Synergies and new perspectives have opened up in these four days...the shared purpose is strong. Thanks BVRio!" – Gianni Cantarutti, Wood expert
